Dear Friends,
It is with great joy and deep gratitude that I share with you some extraordinary news: for the second consecutive year, CommonSpirit Health Philanthropy has achieved a record-breaking fundraising total.

Together, from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, you — our community of more than 45,000 generous donors across the country — helped raise an astounding $316 million to advance the healing mission of CommonSpirit Health. These results, pending final audit, represent not only a milestone achievement, but also a profound expression of faith in the power of humankindness to heal, to comfort, and to unite.

Every gift entrusted to us this past year reflects that mission in action. From individuals and families, to employees, foundations, and community partners — your generosity is transforming lives, strengthening communities, and rippling outward in ways that remind us we are all connected.

Whether you are an employee, a volunteer, a donor, a patient or all of the above — each of us is a member of the CommonSpirit community because we are guided by a mission that calls us to “make the healing presence of God known in our world by improving the health of the people we serve, especially those who are vulnerable, while we advance social justice for all.

In this report, you will find powerful stories that bring these results to life:

  • Celebrating a decade of generosity: At our CommonSpirit Health Foundation 10th Anniversary Gala, friends and supporters from across the country gathered to honor a decade of impact and to set the stage for an even more ambitious future. The gala was a reminder that philanthropy is not just about dollars raised, but about the relationships we build and the communities we uplift together.
  • A teen’s life-saving journey across state lines: A high school football player’s life was saved after a sudden cardiac event found him on life support in Nevada, transferred by Flight for Life to receive more specialized care in Arizona, and recovering in time for his sister’s birthday and Christmas.
  • A trio of board chairs united by mission: With a combined $2 million commitment, three men are honoring the legacy of St. Luke’s Foundation — anchored in gratitude for what has been built, energized by what is being built now, and confident in what is yet to come.
  • A winning partnership with the hometown team: The Seattle Mariners and Virginia Mason Franciscan Health teamed up in a shared mission to educate fans, raise awareness about key health initiatives, and support critical community health programs and research.
  • Honoring legacy of service with a gift for the future: The Edney family's deep-rooted commitment to philanthropy and their enduring connection to Summit County, Colorado led them to make an estate gift of $250,000.
  • A new tower for tomorrow: In downtown Los Angeles, philanthropy helped make possible a transformative new patient tower. This modern facility not only expands access to vital health services, but also stands as a symbol of hope for families throughout the region. It reflects our shared belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, and the highest quality of care.

Each of these stories is unique to its community, yet they are all connected by our common mission. That is the beauty of philanthropy at CommonSpirit: a gift made in one place echoes across our entire ministry, creating a network of healing and humankindness that spans the nation.

This record-breaking year would not have been possible without you, our valued donors. Your passion for our mission and your commitment to making a difference are truly inspiring. We are also incredibly proud that for every dollar invested, we achieved an impressive return on investment of $5.26! This means your generosity is being leveraged to maximize its impact on the communities we serve.

As you read, I invite you to see yourself in these stories. Each life saved, each new building, and each healthier community is possible because of you. Your generosity is humankindness in action, and it is creating a ripple effect that will continue to transform lives across generations.

Thank you for walking alongside us in this sacred work. Together, we are proving that when humankindness leads, healing follows.

With Deepest Gratitude,

Nancy Bussani
